A buddy is attending a conference and, assuming he lives until Wednesday, he is expected to pick a good food and live music spot for a group on Wednesday night walking distance from the Casino? Whatcha got?
EDITED TO ADD: He told me that the emphasis is on the food but hopes for some decent music too.

Wednesday at the square. Outdoor event with a few good food trucks.
May 4 - Shamarr Allen + Margie Perez
May 11 - Andrew Duhon + Alexis and the Samurai
If he wants better food there are lots of places in CBD. Seaworthy, Herbsaint, Peche, Butcher, Gianna, Meril, Compere Lapin, Marilou, Luke....
Both, take an uber to and from Frenchman and somewhere like Three Muses or maybe Snug Harbor.

frick the live music, tell him to take them to Justine.
It’s walking distance and the food is rustic French. Same owner as La Petite Grocery, it’s slick and loud.
ETA: the Justine downvoters are just wrong
