18. La Posta Cocina Blend 2009 $15 90 WA

Had this at dinner the other night and I was pleasantly surprised. It really was a good wine.

I've got a bottle of the '08 that I still have not gotten around to opening.

I had both this past year and I think the '08 is just as good as the '09. I listed the '09 because I knew it would be easier to find in stores.

That '08 should just be coming into its own right about now.

I really like King's Estate Pinot Grigio. Very good white.
Me too. Oregon and Washington definitely have a leg up on California when it comes to Pinot Gris/Grigio.

And thankfully trying to get one on it's sister, Pinot Noir. The heated competition between regions has been providing some very good wines (unfortunately some very, very bad ones too from the people who forget slow and steady win the race).

I don't think I've had any pinots from Washington, and the ones I've had from Oregon have been hit-and-miss since they've been mostly in the under $25 range. I'm eager to try some of the higher quality Oegon pinots.

Had it for the first time this year. Reminded me of some of the great Torrontes wines I used to drink from Salta when I lived in Argentina. It's one of those wines for which I'd pay a couple of bucks just to smell the wonderful aroma.

I generally love aromatic whites but for whatever reason i've never liked Malvasia. Palmina, top to bottom, is making some fantastic stuff.
