The below is from Facebook, but there's a Nola.com article as well. I can't copy and paste it because I don't subscribe. Maybe someone else can. That article indicates she passes away from cancer at the age of 64.

Mr. B's Bistro is at Mr. B's Bistro.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we mourn the passing of Mr. B’s Bistro’s longtime Executive Chef, Michelle McRaney.
Chef McRaney led Mr. B’s kitchen for more than 30 years. Chef McRaney’s love and respect for food kept her offerings fresh and innovative, yet true to her traditional Creole culinary style. Chef McRaney parlayed her belief in and support of local farmers, fishermen, and purveyors to present Mr. B’s diners the freshest, local, and seasonal items available. She was a true farm-to-table pioneer.
The women-led team of Mr. B’s owner Cindy Brennan and Chef McRaney created strong force in an industry long dominated by men. Together these businesswomen earned many prestigious accolades for their commitment and excellence in both Creole cuisine and Southern hospitality.
Chef McRaney is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry, their son Ethan and his wife Caroline, and her Mr. B’s Bistro family.
