There is a Chateau st Michelle Riesling, sweet Riesling and dry Riesling. Most just carry the plain and the sweet. But there is a noted Dry Riesling.
Kung fu girl also a great bargain.
Love that Txakolina. It’s scarce enough as it is. Don’t let the secret out!

If you’ve got a Trader Joe’s near you check out the Espiral Vinho Verde
Like a cheaper Txakolina and it is also priced as such. 4.99 worth a try.

Easy cheat code for white wines- the higher the alcohol content, the dryer the wine. Moscato, Chardonnay, sweet Riesling, etc are around 8-10% whereas dry Rieslings will approach 12-13%.
Yes, but Chardonnay is 11-15%, depending on the region, and not sweet.
If you want the best of both worlds, get a nice sauternes. They have to be at least 13% alcohol to be labeled that way. Sweetness comes from noble rot so they don't sacrifice alcohol content for sweetness like you would do by interrupting fermentation.

Not aimed at you, but that article is pompous, self-important drivel.

And horribly incorrect. Merlot didn't go anywhere after that movie. It's way overblown. Sales of merlot only dropped 2% after the movie was released. And I highly doubt there was any impact at all on right banks some of which are 100% merlot and 100% delicious.

Maybe a burgundy, a little more earthy than Pinot, and a Chablis or unoaked Chardonnay.

For those that don’t like Chardonnay and want cost-effective, the Ferrari-Cerano Fume Blanc is very drinkable. Most Albarinos are also modestly price and quite good. Some Sauvignon Blancs and be grassy and great, others not so much. Chalk Hill makes a great Sauvignon Blanc.
