Peabody where I'm staying

Pay the extra and get on the 12th floor. The ladies that are your personal concierge on that floor were extremely helpful. The bkfst every morning wasn't spectacular but it was nice to not be crowded with people. The personal bar is pretty pricey at night but a nice option if you're wanting to chill in your room for a little bit.
The ducks are on the roof one floor above you. Stay away from the lobby during the times they come down and go up. You should see it once, but otherwise it's a circus. We enjoyed being on the roof and seeing them leave and come back.

Rendevous is right across the street and was the best bbq we had while there. Wish I would have gone there first.

There is a bar on the corner of Beale on the east side and I want to say it's called "Corner Bar". We enjoyed sitting on the second floor outside patio and people watching. They played live music in the park across from that and it was entertaining as well. Dryers is also right below you and about 20 feet to the east from there. Burgers were good but be warned, it will be one of the richest burgers you'll eat and you will probably need some Tums afterwards!

Not an eat or drink, but if you like guitars go tour the Gibson guitar place. It was a great tour and very cool.

Rendezvous doesn't suck. You aren't going to get the heavily rubbed slow smoked sow ribs most of us are used to, but they are still good. At least try it, just to say you did.

To me the go to place is Dyers though. Those deep fried burgers just melt in your mouth. Get yourself at least 2 double doubles to go. Hot cheeseburgers wrapped up in wax paper? Good gawd!

For nicer places, definitely hit up Restaurant Iris (chef is a NOLA native) and Tsunami, which is in the Cooper-Young area(sort of like a Mid City). Both are cab rides from the Peabody, although I think maybe the streetcar runs all the way down Madison Ave. to Restaurant Iris now.
