My 800 series got delivered early last week and I'm already loving this thing.
I put it together that night (after telling myself I would wait until the next day when it was raining) and seasoned it over the next 2 days (1 day for the grill and the other for the griddle).
My first cook I decided on some wings on the griddle. I was surprised how tender they turned out. First round I cooked then tossed in the sauce. The way to go is cooking the sauce on them with a cover. The sugar didn't burn like I thought it would.
Sunday morning I did bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns on the griddle and it all turned out great. Clean up on the griddle is a lot easier than I thought it would be.
That afternoon I did a bacon wrapped pork loin stuffed with cream cheese and candied jalapenos while I had some sausage cooking on the top rack. Once again, it turned out fantastic and sausage was perfect (I tend to overcook it). I had my first flare up with that bacon grease dripping down towards the end but it was no big deal.
2 things I learned is I'll have to clean out the fire chamber often. Shouldn't be hard though.
Also, I will absolutely be using briquettes going forward. I had 1 1/2 bags of Royal Oak lump that I was using this weekend. In the half bag as I was dumping into the hopper I noticed a huge fluff of cotton, like out of a comforter or something. In the 2nd bag towards the end a massive rock about half the size of my fist came out. I'm glad I saw it and was able to pull it out. I don't think it would have damaged anything if it made its way to the bottom but would have been a pain to get out. I rather not have to worry about it with briquettes though.
Overall I'm very impressed with it. It seems like the hotter side is on the right where the beginning of the fire chamber is. This helps with the griddle having a hotter side and a cooler left side. Thankfully they were smart enough to provide a stowing area for the griddle. I had no problems with lighting it or using the app. I wish the app had a graph of some kind to track your cook temps.
The only issue I have had so far is my switch on the ash door. For whatever reason it doesn't press down enough for the controller to register that it is closed. I'm not sure if it got bent back during putting it together or what. I emailed Masterbuilt and they responded the next day saying they were sending me a new switch. For the time being I put one of those adhesive pads you use on furniture so you don't scratch the floor and stuck it to the door where it hits the switch. Problem solved.
I can't wait to get some longer cooks in. I've got a brisket in the freezer waiting on me.

I am now having my first issue with mine. The gasket on the top door appears to be melting onto the surface of the hopper. Now lots of smoke escaping. Not found an easy fix yet other than just sticking a sheet of foil there.

Hopefully NolaGT chimes in but I believe he told me he always uses a piece of tinfoil on his. I picked up a 1050 from him about a month ago and I've used foil every time with no issues as of yet. Granted, I've only cooked on it 3 times. On YouTube I saw a guy that had a piece of metal cut that he uses. It was pretty much the size of the lid. The metal appeared to be ~1/16" thick. I think that's the route I will end up going.

That would seem like an easy deal to make from thin stuff you can get at a home store. I'll probably try it.

Just ordered this. Sure wish I could buy an entire new lid to start over. Mine is basically ruined.

I have not put anything on top of mine so while it hasn't melted there is a buildup of junk. That thing you ordered was what I would suggest, on the MB facebook group there are a few people who make different "mods" for them and that's one of them.
You might be able to get it replaced under warranty...check with who you both it from or check with MB themselves. If you have issue hit me up and I'll see if I can get one for ya nolagt3 at gmail dot com. I was able to get a replacement charcoal basket for one of their new 40" charcoal smokers...the basket warped so I sent pics and got a replacement.

Did you register it? I haven't got a reply email to my question but it looks like you go through the website to start the process but it says it has to be registered and its covered for a year.
GeauxTigers0107 remind me after the Thanksgiving and I'll make you up a receipt so you can register yours if ya want

I got a 1050 for $100 as a damaged display model from Walmart this year lol. Masterbuilt replaced any parts I needed under warranty ha ha.
Still love my 560 too, going to switch to the 1050 when I wear her out. These are great smokers.

Cheapest way to do this is just use aluminum foil, did that since day 1 on mine. Cheap and easy.

Me either
The one I got for my buddy who I sold that 40" too I just sent my rep a email about it so I didn't know.

I finally found their parts page. There's 70 pages, and no filter by model. The one that seemed to be the lid has no picture. I will email them tomorrow after I have pics of my issue.

Yeah if you email them, they are usually quick to respond and if it is under warranty or sometimes even not, they will send you replacements for free.

That's what I'm talking about. We have a metal shop at work that can pop me out one of those in a couple minutes.
