I used to work not too far from Mason Jar when it was on Katy Freeway and used to love to go there for lunch. Food was great and very well priced, kind of a homestyle feel.

Apparently when the moved to Katy, they tried to go more upscale, raising their prices a bit and focusing more on craft cocktails. I guess it didn't work.

They've only been in Katy less than a year, so I never got to go check out their new place on my last trip back there. Anybody been since they moved or could shed more light on what happened?

Not too far from this location but didn't visit. Restaurant/Bar competition has become furious in Katy the last couple years. Still has to be some kind of record. They built a brick and mortar and didn't make the year.

I was in the same boat as you. Ate there when it was on Katy Fwy. Was excited to hear it moving to Katy, but never made it there. When they re-opened, the menu didn't look that great for the prices they were charging. Will be interesting to see if they re-open with a revised model.

Wasn't going to survive when the new Mia's opens anyway.

We went once. The food and service were average at best. Reviews were all over the map as well. We had never been to the original Katy location, but had been to the one in the Clear Lake area many times when we lived down there.
