When you get lunch meat cut at the local deli, how long do you eat it before tossing it? I am ok with it for about five days and I haven’t died yet. Do any of y’all go longer than that?

Both the Boars Head and HEB deli cuts last about 5-6 days for me. They are probably still edible, but the fresh scent isn't there anymore, and the meat seems a bit filmy/slimy.

If it smells odd or is slimy, don’t eat it.

Sound advice on multiple levels.

Boars Head
I think their Maple Glazed Honey Turkey doesn't last as long as their others. It will get slimy and sticky around the 3 day mark.

Get a knive and cut a slit in the middle of that lunch meat, fry on both sides in a skillet for about 2 minutes, eat it between 2 slices of Evangeline bread with some mayo.
