Louisiana navel oranges are the best

Had my first of the season this morning. They are just the best of all the oranges available.

Are the oranges grown in Louisiana a variety that is more cold-hardy than the varieties grown in Florida?

I don't know if they are a different variety but they are not as "pretty" but to me they taste better than Florida or California oranges.

For juicing, Valencia/Louisiana Sweet are really good,,,California Red Navel is a great juicing orange also

I concur.
We planted two orange trees in blackjack dirt adjacent a swamp. They only get afternoon sun. It gets cut off an hour or two before sunset.
The quality of the oranges that they produce are better than anything I've ever tasted.
None of it should work. And yet it works great.
