How about a Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone?

First, collect the Mash Water. According to my calculations, I need 5.5 gallons of Mash Water and 4.9 gallons of sparge water. I use my water filter on my sink faucet......I'm gonna re caulk that sink....tomorrow honey.....what am I doing now???? Cleaning my office downstairs....need some hot water.

Mash Water is collected. I use my Boil Kettle as a hot liquor tank for mash water. I always bring my water to a boil to DE-oxygenate it. Probably not necessary but I just do. So now we'll wait til it boils.

I took the afternoon off and brewed a Belgian pale ale that will get some figs and then soured. I don't think to take pictures.

Speaking of citra hops, the other day if forgot a package of citra hops in my car. Sat there all day. When I got in to my car it was the most wondrous aromas I've ever smelled.

I hope you all are not wasting your time waiting on the mash water to boil. I had a scrumptious dinner of vegetarian chic'n nuggets, mashed potato and a DR13.

Heres a pic of the boiling water. Gonna let this cool to 165....this is my strike temp.....or the temp of the water when I mix it with the grains. By my calcs, this will result in a mash temp of 154....a little higher than I would normally mash but I'm following a recipe I found online.

Don't think so. But we'll see how the mash goes.

So I've also collected my sparge water.....5 gallons by my calcs. I have it on the burners heading towards a boil while the mash water cools.

Now that we have some down time, I'll post my recipe:

As you can see, I've added some cascade hops to the original recipe.....Zombie Dust doesn't have cacade....but I have a bunch in the freezer I need to use. So I can say this is my own recipe.

My Mash water is now at 165.

I put hot water into my Mash Tun (Orange Cooler) to pre heat it. I poured this water out.

Next I grab my grains which I bought at my Local Homebrew Store today.

I pour these into my preheated Mash Tun

Now I transfer my mash water, at 165 temp, into my mash tun.

Yea, I know the oven is a mess. This is a spare oven in a spare kitchen. The oven is a 1950s Kenmore and one of these days I'm going to restore it. 2 burners and the oven still work though.
