Skip Black's if you want brisket. Kreuz had great brisket 8 years ago when I went. Smitty's is supposed to be on par with that too.

My father did business with JW and your Dad. I did business many years ago with them and more recently, as in several years ago with Ross. I thought he was older than that which is why I thought he was older than me. My sincerest condolences. He was a great guy. I heard not long ago he was starting to fly helicopters as well.

And for those who will complain about the hijack I'll tell them to try the pork ribs at Smitty's. Never get any attention and are as good as any others I've had.

back to BBQ I did stop and grab a bunch of food to take home on the way home at Rudy's in Katy...jalapeño sausage, brisket, ribs and creamed corn. We've talked about this before, and it's obviously not on the level of the Lockhart places, but Rudy's does a good job and I wish there was one closer to home
