Lobster tails

Bought 4 lobster tails at Costco this afternoon. Planning to grill them tonight with some butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. Never done it before so got a couple questions- Should I add anything to my baste? And do you make your cut down middle of tail on flesh side or shell side? TIA

I cut them on the shell side and split them that way. My baste is like yours except that I add some minced garlic.
