Posted byMessagePerplenGoldLive Crawfish in Houston by PerplenGoldPicked up a sack from Lake Jackson HEB a couple hours ago. This store doesn't reserve them. First come, first serve only. First time I've come across that with HEB. They look good, boiling tomorrow. $3/lb.
Boiled em yesterday once the game was pretty much done. Less than a lb of dead ones and great size. Will do again.
Added liquid boil for my first time. Deelicious. Soaked til they sank. Temps in the 40s with windchill.
Geaux Tigers! Almost sweep time.

Between BR and Houston is the Crawfish Capitol of the World. Stop and get you a couple sacks and ice them down.
Can definitely do this. Frey’s in Iota or Rita’s in Gott’s Cove (LA 98 between Basile and Iota). Easy pickup and great live crawfish selection.
In Sugar Land area, like someone mentioned Kovasovik’s in Rosenberg is good. Only place I’ve found to get legit bone-in pork steaks like you find all over South Louisiana.
Also, Joel at Bayou Boys in Needville will sell some of the live sacks he gets, and Spanky’s in Richmond off TX 723 has great quality as well.
I’ve had hit and miss success with HEB. They get their crawfish from the same Acadia Parish source as Bayou Boys, but they must not know how to handle them properly because it seems every other time I get from them, I’m throwing out a bunch of dead crawfish.
