They had a New Orleans location which was short lived. The hurricane didn't help them either, but I mean, when faced with the choice of Ralph & Kacoo's vs. GW Fins, I'm choosing Fins every time.

The thing that is frustrating about a place like this is that it still has a reputation despite years of mediocrity. Just a bit of effort and it could be a BR destination restaurant.

Ate at the original False River location a couple of times - a real treat. Ate several times at a Dallas location - always good food and good service.

I enjoyed it recently, but I only had the bisque and the fried sampler so I can't speak for the overall quality of the menu.
I will say that the facility looks nicer than it did when I had worked there.

Last time I went was about a decade ago. They were running a special, buy one entree, get one free I think, and even for that price it wasn't worth it. It was just plain horrible. I wouldn't even put it on the same level as Drusilla, which has at least made an effort to get right and at times can put out some decent food. It's not much higher than Long John Silvers and Captain D's on my quality seafood scale.

Ya, I have not been there since the early 80s, so my statement is only based on the opinions offered here, some of which I trust and some of which are the usual over the top "garbage" "shitty" stuff that I don't take it very seriously.

There are some good posters here but I try not to get too caught up in the group think
If you listen to the people around here you'd think that Sushi Yama is better than places in Tokyo

It is horrible now. We went there last May for an end of year work function and the bathroom smelled so badly of urine that the smell was noticeable out in the restaurant. The mirror in the bathroom was cracked all the way across. The food is average at best. If you stick to the fried seafood or other seafood dishes it is edible but god forbid you order a steak. Worst steak I ever had was from this place. I hate it and will only go back if we keep having end of year work events there. Hopefully they wont.

I went a little before that and the bisque was awful. Good to know it's not bad any longer. BR doesn't have bisque options that I'm aware of. I think R&K's was probably the only option for a stuffed head bisque.
How did it compare to other crawfish bisque you've had? Wasn't it you who wanted to bring bisque home with you on a recent trip? Did you do it?
