So Degas, What exactly is the plural of Octopus?
The discussion also brought up the terms "shrimps" and "beers".
I'll probably post more pics when I grill or cut up into a salad to show the final result.

How do I know if an octopus is fresh and worthy of purchase?
My local Asian supermarket has them, but I never know if I should trust the store.

I know I´m going to get downvoted like a muddafugga, but I would NOT buy octupus at a store in this country.
MAYBE Whole Foods.
I have consistently had tough as car tire calamari at many a restaurant considered important here (one would think they´re getting ´primo´ fresh stuff), I could not imagine what level of octopus (how it was pulled from the water, when, and above all, what´s gone on with it from then to your shopping cart).
ETA Now that I think of it, if you´ve never been exposed to the good stuff, let alone been raised on it (and not assigned it it´s proper respect due to repition and familiarity), well, you don´t know any better, do you?
