I've never seen sugar dissolve in cold water.

I don't make my own tea. Milo's sweet tea is perfect imo so that's what I buy.

Bring 2 quarts of water to a slow boil put 3 bags of Community tea. Boil for 30min then let stand for 30min. Squeeze bags and pour in a one gallon pitcher add 1/2cup sugar and fill with cold water. BOOM!

My mother made a gallon crock pitcher of very sweet tea everyday of my life under her roof. Lipton Orange Pekoe.

I bring about two or three cups to a boil then turn off heat and drop about 4 large Lipton bags in, cover and let steep. Then after about thirty minutes pour into that same gallon crock pitcher ( that I got after she died) add sugar to taste - which is not near as sweet as hers was, stir and pour over ice and squeeze a slice of lemon in it.

I'm having one right now as I type this and watch Tosh.

1. Bring 1 quart of water to a boil 2. Remove from heat 3. Add (4) family-sized Luzianne tea bags and cover to keep in the heat 4. Let sit for 3-5 hours 5. Mix 1 cup of sugar and tea brew into 1 gallon pitcher, then fill pitcher up with cold water to desired consistency and stir til sugar is dissolved. 6. Drink up/place in fridge

This is the way I do it but I use 6 bags of tea.
