Boy do I miss Lucy's and it's relaxing, tiki hut vibe.

Lava Cantina is so dark and metallic and just not comfortable at all.

The margaritas are really good, and the food is certainly passable...but the prices?

$15 for red beans and rice.

$14 for a hamburger.

Over $11-13 for 2 tacos.

$19 for a damn chicken breast.

I swear, their drinks have got to be the only thing keeping them open.

They've surpassed my expectations for longevity at their Perkins Rowe location. I didn't think it would last thing long when they first opened.

That's the only reason I can figure the Perkins location is still open. Their food is awful .

Went here for the first time a month or so ago. Talk about garbage. Overpriced & shitty service. And the whole music shtick is too theme-y, almost embarrassing.

I'll play devils advocate here.

The vibe at Lucy's was let's try and not stick to the floor because the place never gets cleaned. The vibe of eating dinner while drunk people walk all around like it's a bar.

Who goes to a Mexican place to get red beans and rice?

Who goes to ant restaurant(besides a Popeyes) and orders a chicken breast?

The only thing that kept Lucy's open was the drinks.

How resturants downtown make it I'd like to know....
Some of the pricey ones do ok...but the mediocre ones seem to come and go rather quickly...the downtown scene would be so much better if they didn't have so many rules...

Isn't that normal?

What rules are you talking about downtown?

Lucy's had a cool vibe to eat cheap food that was good for what it was and enjoy good drinks in a casual atmosphere.

I mentioned the prices I did because those are not even Mexican staples and they are extremely over priced. Also, the portions are quite small.

The juicy Lucy was an ok burger. Every other thing I ate there was bad. Not to mention the service was consistently awful.

They just opened a lava cantina in the colony over here. Huge music venue and restaurant/bar. I imagine they're doing well financially.

Lava Cantina's lunch menu is terrible. Lucy's wasn't much better by the time they closed. They kept trying to change up the menu and were taking the better foods off.
