Latil's Landing

Going to Latil's Landing tonight for our anniversary. I've been there a couple times and enjoyed my meal every time, but I have stuck to ordering off of the menu. Does anyone here have any experience with the chef's tasting menu as well as the wine parings? Is it worth it? Thanks.

I have had it once. Both the wife and I enjoyed the main courses. She is not as adventurous as me and did not care for some of the cheeses and a few other items. Don't get the wine pairing if you have far to go. I think it was 7 glasses, but very good. I enjoyed it, after tip I think it was ~$340.

It is worth doing, they were able to sub out the frois gras app for us by request , and the wine parings did well. My wife and I split the wine portion as neither of us are big wine drinkers, and glad we did as wick pointed out drinking seven glasses and driving would not of been a smart thing
One thing that was pointed out by one of our guest was that is was a lot of food, but done in a slow paced manner, and every person ate every bite of every course, and everybody was more than full and satisfied but not miserably stuffed
Happy anniversy , and I am now ready to go again, but will wait for cooler rather to enjoy the grounds

Also a concern as I have to drive back home tonight which is 30-40 min. away.
Thanks for the advice guys.

Well worth the tasting menu and wine pairing. Phenomenal. Takes quite some time so the glasses of wine shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of eating there, but plenty of folks here have written glowing reports of both the tasting menu and regular menu. I say go for the tasting! If you haven't done it, it will be fun even if every course isn't your fancy. Celebrate your anniversary by taking a chance.
And, please do report back whatever you do. Love reading about the place since it's on my restaurant bucket list.

I'd imagine the tasting menu would be great especially if you plan on drinking (we typically don't drink wine with our meals unless someone in our party brings a couple bottles).

Tasting menu was great, but I was so drunk after all that wine!

Anytime we go for dinner we usually do the tasting menu. Done the wine pairing several times, but it is a lot of wine. If you plan on a trip to the turtle bar before or after it is a whole lot of wine.
I think they used to offer a table in the wine cellar/cistern, but never did that. Remember seeing pictures of the table set up, but might have just been for a photo shoot. Still something cool to see if you are heading out there.
