Yes it is old. But you want to know how old I am? I remember going there when it was Black Angus Steak House.

I'm an occasional LaFonda fan.

I have never been, but there was a decent thread on this a week or so ago. All I remember is several people saying to get the meat nachos.

ETA: La Fonda thread

Oh yes. Only went to Europes when I got to high school but had many lunch and dinner at Don's as a kid. My father had an account there as well as Jack Sabins, The Village, The Place and before that Bob and Jakes. In high school he would let me take a date to any of them and charge it. Then I would work it off. Needless to say I had a few dates. It was a great tool. But I worked my arse off for that privilege.

One of my frat brothers is married to the daughter of the guy who founded it. It used to be legit. Not sure if the same family still owns it, though. They are Greek by way of Mexico, btw.

I'm old too and I loved Mirror Steak House. I loved Europe's too. I used to eat at LaFonda when it was next to Plank Bowl. Does anyone remember Leon's Italian Kitchen and Bluebird on Plank Road. Hell I even remember Shoppers Fair and I witnessed the first one on Plank Road burn down. I was a kid back then.

Hey Jim Rockford ...it's still around with the best margaritas and true traditional Mexican food. And yes, the daughter is still one of the family owners, oversees the property, and indeed is married to your old fraternity brother. I know because that happens to be me. Let's reconnect.
