Has anyone tried the new stuff out and can provide a review or comparison vs the original? I’ve always used the original and have it dialed in, even though they increased the salt content a few years ago. Kind of scared to try this new Cajun fire at the risk of screwing up a boil for myself and guests without hearing some real life feedback on it first.

I’m in the same boat as you. I got the regular down to a science. Scared to fix something that ain’t broke.

Based on the name, it sounds like they decided to screw up a perfectly good seasoning by making it hotter.
Will never understand this if this is indeed the case.

I bought a bag yesterday, but I haven't tried it yet.

I’ve done two boils with it and like it a lot. I don’t find that it adds so much more spice that it’s unbearable, but it definitely has more than the original.

My wife, who isn’t into crazy spice, prefers it over the original. I’m indifferent, they’re both great

Taste any different or just more Heat?

I found the taste the same, with a bit more heat (honestly, nothing significantly different, just a small amount of heat). If you’re happy with what you’ve got, I wouldn’t mess with what aint broke, but you’re not going to ruin a boil with it at all if you wanna try it. Just don’t dump any cayenne

I used to use the original with a small container of liquid for a little extra heat. With the new mix I don't add anything. I have used it twice with good results and will be using it from now on.
