Can’t wait for the thread about how you ruined the La Creuset pot, and the gumbo.

If I wanted to cook a gumbo, how would I do that?

Boil some chicken soup, add a bag of the frozen Trinity, a few hot dogs chopped up, and some chicken nuggets from McDonald's. Let the flavors all mix together then add a corn starch slurry to thicken.

I like my Oval

but honestly, you can buy pots that are much cheaper and may perform much better for gumbo.

My opinion.

Not a bad recipe, but you forgot the great chef's secret ingredient - hardly ever shared with the common man.

After all, it ain't really gumbo, it is actually a stew, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, you get a mix of all parts of the chicken.

We have a harder time getting a roux darker in a LC. Anyone else have that problem?
