I cook one day per week. Just need a knife that can cut vegetables well.

I’ve been using a “utility” knife that was like $12. Would like something that would slice right through a sweet potato.

If you don't want to break the bank just get a Victorinox chef's knife on amazon. It's all you need.

Victorinox Chef's Knife

Not the best knife out there, but the best value you'll get especially if you only need it for veges once a week.

I'll second the Dexter. I have a chef's knife by that company and it is my go-to knife in the kitchen for just about everything. Cutting vegetables, parting out meat, cutting up chickens, etc.

It comes with a good edge and is very easily sharpened when needed. The non-slip handle is a bonus too in my book.

I also have a couple Dexter oyster knives and I'd not want any other. The white handle is non-slip and the stainless blade is perfect for shucking oysters.
