Kick ash basket for Primo XL

I didn't want to hijack the other thread so I am asking here. DOes anyone have any experience with the kick ash basket and bucket for an XL? How do you like it and what are the benefits? Thanks.

I have one for my BGE and love it. Would definitely buy again.

I am a little concerned about the can restricting airflow.

Like unc, I have it for my BGE large and it works way better than the iron grate with holes that came with the stock unit. Airflow with the can is not an issue.

I don't have a kickass but I have the Kamado Joe basket and I would not have a grill without a charcoal basket. One of the best extras I bought for my Joe.

Airflow effects are not an issue. It's a simple wire basket. I don't know how you put your lump in but it works great on my Primo.

Am I missing something? I looked it up and saw just a wire basket. How does this help at all?
Someone mentioned a can. Does is have a solid can that help with removal of the ash?

Because cleaning will be much easier.
1. Lift basket
2. Empty can of ash
3. Replace can
4. Replace basket

Two different products. The wire basket allows you to continue to use the unburied pieces of lump for your current cook and the rest is trapped in the can at the bottom of the Primo/BGE. It helps a little bit.
But as far as the can goes, it does not effect the airflow at all (assuming you line up the opening with the ash clean out). On mine the bottom of the inner ceramic sits directly on the outer/exterior of the pit.
