Headed to Key West in a week. Staying at the Ocean Key resort. Does the F&D peeps have any Key West favorites? I enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so feel free to shoot away. TIA!

google key west and tiger droppings. I think there was a good thread just last week.

Not trying to stop anyone from posting in this thread, but there were some good responses in that thread.

Here's my reply from that thread

quote:

Cracked Conch at the Conch Shack on Duval. I know it's right in the middle of all the touristy stuff but it's my favorite on the island.

Definitely a Blackened Hogfish Sandwich at Hogfish Grill.

Cuban Sandwich at Sandy's Cafe.

Louie's Backyard for something a little nicer.

Breakfast at Blue Heaven or SaraBeth's.

Angelina's Pizza for drunk food.

Sunday Brunch/pool party at Dante's.

Key Lime martini and small plates at The White Tarpon.

Fresh oysters and royal reds at the Half-Shell Raw Bar.

The restaurant on Sunset Key is called Lattitudes and is fantastic. Would definitely recommend if you have the time. I'd go ahead and make a reservation because they fill up pretty quick.

As far as nightlife goes, I'd avoid most of Duval except for the obligatory stop at Sloppy Joe's and Captain Tony's (original sloppy joe's). If you like beer, The Porch is a great little place. It's set in an old house that belonged to a prominent doctor on the island on Caroline St, right off the main drag. From there it's no big deal to hang a left on Whitehead St. and cruise on down to the Green Parrot to catch some live music. Schooner Wharf Bar, which is in the Historic Seaport across from the Raw Bar, is also a great low-key spot to check out. They've usually got music going too on weekends.
