BTW, I heard Julian Van Winkle on the Whisky Cask pod cast and he confirmed this-

this bourbon was actually stock of the Stitzel-Weller distillery

Where is everyone finding the 18 yo (BR or NO)?

Where in BR or NO can I find either the Jefferson 18 year or the Pappy Van Winkle?
Churchills might have it.

Jefferson bought Pappy Van Winkle after Pappy's distillery burnt to the ground fwiw. And uses the PVW recipe.

GaryMyMan, think it was at Tommy's...check to see if it's still there, there's a chance that bottle might sit there a while...

There is a lot incorrect about this statement. I'm sure the Bearded One will correct what I mess up.
The Pappy's distillery never burnt down. It still stands and was simply moth balled by what is now Diageo after they purchased the distillery and consolidated operations.
Jefferson never bought Pappy Van Winkle. They bought old stock from the Stizel Weller Distillery(aka the Pappy distillery) after it was shut down and bottled it as Jefferson Presidential.
Jefferson doesn't use the PVW recipe. Jefferson doesn't distil anything. They are basically a blender.
PVW is currently made at the Buffalo Trace distillery which is owned by the Sazerac Company.

I really want to try a nice bottle of Bourbon, what would you guys recommend under a $100?

For those looking, Roux Wine & Spirits in Prairieville has three bottles of the Jefferson Reserve 18-year for $90 each.

Churchill's had one bottle of the Jefferson 18 year left on the shelf as of yesterday. It was around $90-95 or so.

You got it all right Cash!
The PVW is now being made at Buffalo Trace. The PVW 15 year being released is now all stock from the Buffalo Trace distillery. I've read some reviews that claim that you can tell the difference between the stocks, but it's all being made to Julian Van Winkle's specifications which is the same as previously.

The Jefferson Presidential Select is a great one if you want to spend on the upper limits of it. Which bourbons have you had and enjoyed? There are a lot of great values in the $30-$50 range depending on your tastes. It's always good to work your way up the ladder in tasting the better bourbons. If you have a PVW 20 or 23 year, most other will pale in comparison.

So let's say I found a bottle of Pappy 20 on the shelf at an unexpected but not shaddy place in BR today I should buy it and run right?

Nope, you should send me the location and I'll take it from there

I bought out their remaining stock. Sorry bout that.
I about shite on my self when I saw it sitting there on the shelf.
I wanted to ask the owner if he knew what he had, but was afraid to press my luck. I am conflicted though if I should keep this honey hole all to myself.
