Jambalaya experts - I have cooked a many jambalaya in a standard size cast iron pot. I am upping my game and got a 5 gallon jambalaya pot for a graduation party. What will be an approximate cooking time from start to finish, not including prep time, or will it be the same as the standard pot times? Thanks!

Maybe marginally quicker because the big rigs seem to get hotter and brown the meats faster. If you don’t rush things, about one hour plus prep.

3 hours. You can make it longer if you want to drink more, but it doesn't take more than 3 hours.

Mine usually take around 2.5hrs for a 5 gallon pot but I really take my time when browning the pork to get a good sticky pot.

5 gallon - 3 hours

10 gallon - 4 hours
15 gallon - 4 hours
20 gallon - 4 hours

30 gallon - 5 hours

All of my rigs have enclosed stands and hold heat great. If you have an open stand, it may have to cook longer.
