Guy at Cuban's yesterday lied to my face and I almost felt like calling him out, but didn't. He said their distributor didn't get any at all and it seems like Parish just didn't make enough to sell into BR. Even though I fully knew from you guys and Andrew himself how many cases BR had.

Louisiana finally gets a beer we can be proud of, and now all the Texas people have to hate

Idk. I had it at the brewery at our tasting, and agree with BMoney that it's one of the best beers I've had produced at a Louisiana brewery, and if it's like the 2012 version, it will get even better with age. Again, you're a bit jaundiced based on what you have access to in Houston-remember, we are in a virtual beer wasteland. I have trouble putting together anything to trade on a bxn because we have so little to offer.

What makes it English? The hopping seems American to me. Especially since this year's is hoppier.

The 2013 version is definitely American-style barleywine.

Much more hops presence in this years. It's an all around better beer IMO.

Gotcha. I'll probably head to the brewery tonight to get my reserved bottles and pick up another one or two if they still have some available. May have time to ride up to Natchitoches over the next couple weeks and we could work something out again.

I still think he used the same American hop varieties.

But I think he may use an English ale yeast, so it actually could be considered a hybrid.

I believe he used their house english ale yeast in the primary. And finished it off with an american ale yeast. Someone on here was saying something about that.
