Last time I was in Pensacola I remember the cases of Yuengling being 10-20% higher than the BMC cases. Still bought a few for the beach though.

No and they aren't even close to getting distribution out here. I just had a conversation over FB a couple weeks ago with whoever runs their page. My Inbev rep says they can't get Yeungling to agree to let them distribute it for them.
I talked to the Brew Master and the Head of Distribution at the Penn St. game in '09 and they want to bring it here but they want to expand the brewery before they add more production.

And like I said I can get lots of good beers for the same price as Yuengling.

Exactly, even in Louisiana. I know it isn't a lager, but if you're lumping it into "lawnmower type" beers, NOLA Blonde is a low ABV "light" hot weather style beer, and in my opinion, way better than the overhyped Yuengling. I am completely convinced that the name has many people hooked.

Don't know about that, but I was talking to a liquor store owner a couple of weeks ago and he said that for a year after entering the Georgia market it sold like crazy. Now it is just "normal" sales.

Sweetwater > Yuengling

Understatement. Sweetwater blows away Yuengling.

Yeungling is awesome. I'm in Ohio for a little for work and that's all I've been drinking. I also have been drinking Great Lakes "Dortmunder Gold"

Stop drinking Yuengling, drink more Great Lakes.

Pretty sure that Yuengling is a lot cheaper than any NOLA beer. Not saying it is better, but it is cheaper.

Here is an article written in Ohio from last year:

"In the Dayton area, all three Yuengling beers available in Ohio — Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan — will be released with state minimum prices of $5.89 a six-pack (bottles), $10.49 per 12-pack (cans), and $18.49 per 24-pack (cans). Those prices are comparable to the major “domestic premiums” of Bud, Miller and Coors."

Ill take sierra pale over yuengling as a "session" beer. Yuengling is a notch above bud, and thats not saying much.

Exactly my point. It's the lack of supply that makes it seem better than it is.

I can just about guarantee that Balashi beer tastes twice as good in Aruba as it would if I could by it here.

I don't think Yuengling is competing against craft beer at all. They are competing against BMC. Almost any craft beer is going to be better than Yuengling, but it will cost significantly more as it should.

Yuengling is what it is, which is a decent to good cheap beer that you can drink a ton of either tailgating, at the beach, on the golf course or fishing.

SN and many others are only marginally more expensive if at all.

It is Bud. Only difference is they dye the beer to make it look like its a dark beer.

I agree. Any beer that you can't get regularly instantly makes it better.

Where can I get a case of SN, Saint Arnold, Sam Adams, NOLA or Anchor for less than $20? I think most of those craft beer cases would go for over $30 if not close to $36.

Saw your post about the Yuengling prices above. It is much more than that here. Usually 7.99 a six. I can get SN for about the same or 8.99.

I know the prices can differ by region, but I have never seen it sell for higher than a dollar a beer at any quantity in a store. I agree, if it is being sold for anything higher than $7 a six pack then it is way too high and there are much better options.
