Is everything you cook reasonably tasty? and if not, do you still serve it?

i'm not talking about some off the wall recipe you tried for the first time but standard stuff that you'd cook for folks for, say, the holidays?
i consider myself a decent cook and 99% of the time what i cook is pretty good. Every now and then i'll cook something that i wouldn't serve to anyone.
anyway, at recent family gatherings, i've noticed that some of the stuff that people bring isn't just bad, it's inedible. it would have a non-stop ticket from my pot to the trash can if i cooked it. roast tough as the sole of a boot, pulled pork with no taste (i don't even know how that's possible!), some sort of corn dish, on and on. the only things that fully went were my simple mirliton casserole and store bought platters like sandwiches and chicken fingers. for the other stuff i'm like "how do you even think this is OK to bring?"
anyway, i know there are none of those folks here so lets just gather and laugh at them...

Several occasions I've had to stop and pick up a pre-made dish or dessert on the way to a family gathering because what I had cooked turned out awful.

I try to put my heart and soul into anything I cook, but there have been some duds.
I made pochejp's jamb recipe for a super bowl potluck, and it didn't work out. The rice was a bit overcooked, and it was a bit too spicy. I felt pretty bad because I misrepresented his dish.

Probably wasn't your fault. Sometimes the recipe just isn't as good as advertized.
