In the kitchen today

I have 3 days worth of figs cooking down on the stove to put in Mason jars when done and about 150 pods of okra cut up and cooking next to them to be frozen and used for gumbos and soups.
If it wasn't for the damn birds beating me to the tree the last couple mornings, I'd have another 50 or so figs in the pot. Bastards pick a hole, eat half the fig and move on to another, and I was out at 6 a.m. to pick.
At least nothing messes with the okra.
I've also got at least 100 peppers between jalapeno, serrano and habanero that I'll use to make some pepper jelly and hot sauce later today. Have to hit the store for some Certo for the jelly so it sets.
The only problem is the kitchen will be a bit toasty today with all this going on and the A/C fighting to keep up with the heat.

Well jumpin' jehoshaphat hombre, I didn't know it required a specific numerical designation, but if you insist, approximately 200 or so.

Where did you get the figs from?

From the tree in my yard. When I bought this house in 92 it had 2 large fig trees in the yard but one was killed by the floodwaters of Katrina, but somehow the other survived, but was damaged badly and I basically cut most of it down.
It sent up new shoots that are now tree trunks with good foliage and a healthy crop of figs every year since 08, but it took about 3 years to recover.
I also lost a tangerine tree and a Loquat (Japanese Plum) tree to Katrina but didn't replace them.
