With the season's first cold snap I was wondering who's cooking a gumbo. If so what kind?

All intention was to make seafood gumbo. However, wife derailed for chili.

Prob gonna do chicken/sausage/oyster tomorrow afternoon. Yes to jarred roux, potato salad, and no to tomatoes and okra.

Just finished a chicken, sausage, shrimp and okra one. It's pretty tasty. Gonna be better tomorrow night for the game.

Doing a venison chili with beans for the game. Diced onions and fixings for toppings

Not cold enough weather for gumbo in the northeast. In a month or so it should be perfect and can’t wait.

Not gumbo. I laid in a huge supply of chicken and andouille last week.
Tomorrow, I'm making a huge pot of red beans and rice. It's true, though, I make massive pots of all my favorite cold weather comfort food to fill up the freezer with the first cold snaps.

Some of y’all and your irrational hatred of jarred roux is comical.

Hen, sausage, smoked turkey necks, chicken gizzards, drop some eggs to poach right at the end. My favorite meal to cook & eat.
