If you have a Mexican theme, guys also like this simple simon spread. We usually throw it in with some heftier apps.

Jalapeno Black Bean Dip
1 - 15 oz. can black beans rinsed & drained
1 - 8 oz. cream cheese softened
1 - Bunch (5-6) green onions(optional)
1 - 8 oz jar any fruit flavor Jalapeno Jam or pepper jelly (we use pepper jelly)
1 - pkg. 3 blend Mexican Shredded Cheese

Mix/blend black beans cream cheese & onions. Spread on a oval platter. Spread pepper jelly on top of cream cheese & top with shredded cheese. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with tortilla chips.

Another good "man dip" that is really simple to make...

Shred a block of cheddar cheese
Mix in some mayo (to a somewhat creamy feel)
Chopped jalepenos
Chopped raw onions
Serve with Fritos-about the only chip that will hold up to this fairly "stiff" dip.

Don't knock it till you've tried it, seen people almost come to blows when this thing gets down to the last bite!
