If you are Geismar, I'd head over to Hymel's and order up some boiled crabs and cold budweisers.

my thought was Mike Andersons for dinner (char oysters etc.), they would not be impressed by Juban's..

At least two people have suggested Latil's Landing at Houma's House in Darrow. It is one of, if not the best restaurant in Louisiana. If you want to impress with dinner, go there. Or Stroube's.

I still can't figure out what's wrong with Juban's.

Louisiana Lagniappe for dinner.

Or Stroube's if you want somewhere to grab a drink before/after.

Dude, seriously, Latil's is good but it certainly is not the top restaurant in La. Fact! It may not even be the top restaurant in the BR area.

Yep, that or Chimes for dinner. Maybe George's or Dempsey's for lunch.

It may not have the best food if we're doing a blind taste test, but I think it is certainly worth mentioning with other top restaurants (I say "may" deliberately because I can't think of a place whose food I enjoy more). When talking about the whole package: food, service, atmosphere, scenery, etc. I haven't been anywhere that tops it.

Also, saying "Fact!" invalidates any point you may have had.

As does editing your post.

I will agree with you that the atmosphere, especially the gardens, add tremendously to a nice dining experience. I just went there last Friday with an OOT guest for lunch and it was really good. I prefer the dinner venue much better since I don't enjoy competing with the tourist buses and the incessant nose blowing of the patrons using this conveyance.

Firstly, thanks for the rec's...clients wanted to try Oysters so we opted for Acme...The Charbroiled they ate with enthusiasm..I ordered a doz raw not expecting them to partake...but they ate with gusto..all together 3 of us ate 3 doz char and 2 doz raw, before we all had gumbo...next trip will definitaly do Roberto's or Ruffino's....on another note...this board blows up the cheese fries at Walk On's..pretty dang good as CF's go.

Not sure what to do with yourself today ?

I'm sure the car appreciates the rest.

I devoted a day to the couch to watch football and kicked mrs afro out of the House. Ill pay for that. Literally. Never get to watch a whole lot of other teams during the season.

Couple growlers of canebrake and ill be in no time.

I've been at the office for 6 hours. Probably 2 more to go.

I gotta have a distraction.

Get a clue, the client wanted oysters, the client gets oysters, although if we had the time we would have driven to NOLA had enjoyed Drago's or Casamento's..

Yes, but the alternative is no business, so this is better.
