On occasion, I’ve had a beer that freezes once opened, like liuzza’s fish bowl beer. Now, I see that in Thailand, they do it on purpose. Also, there are YouTube videos on how to make them. Those instructions seem like a pain. risk the busted beer in the freezer, or you can leave it in an ice salt bath for how long?

I see they make truck freezers (portable, electric) that you could set to 25f and forget about it. Has anyone tried using the precision temp, portable freezers to make these beer slushies?

They were selling something like this at Disney Springs when we went a couple years ago. It piqued my interest so I asked a guy I saw drinking one if it’s any good. He said he really enjoyed it. So I got one and was not a fan. It diluted the flavor of the beer, plus made it flat and watery.

To me, it's like eating what's left of a snowball after almost all the syrup has been consumed..............kinda blah.

I put a 6 pack of High Life ponies in the freezer once because I wanted them ice cold. Well, I got busy cutting grass and forgot about them for a couple of hours. When I was done all I could think about was cold beer and then I realized that I left the ponies in the freezer. I was expecting to find glass shards and frozen beer all over the freezer but to my surprise they weren’t even frozen so I put them in the fridge and grabbed one to enjoy while I admired my yard work. As soon as I twisted off the cap it turned into a slush and immediately began foaming from the top. All I could think to do was suck off this fricking beer bottle every 2 seconds for the next 5 minutes to prevent alcohol abuse because the foaming wouldn’t stop. I took the other 5 out of the fridge and brought them outside to thaw so I could actually drink them.
