Looks awesome. Good job, good effort!

I must say though, live in Tampa for 5+ years and you'll get pretty tired of Cubans and spanish food all together. It's good, but it's no crawfish etoufee or seafood gumbo!

Looks good, MD. I love my Cubano from Churro's here in Metairie.

When I make mine, I like to use roasted pork loin and I mix the mustard and butter together. I like the way that works out. No bread and butter pickles for me - EVER.

Rat

I can understand no b&b pickles.

What kind of pickles do you get?
Seems like the pickle is a big part if the sandwich.

I did a lot if business in Tampa in the past. Always thought Tampa had a good range of interesting places to eat. Has it changed a lot in the past ten years?

try also the Ropa Vieja Sandwich, or if in Miami, find a MEDIA NOCHE..I like it even better

LINK use the links at the top of the page

BTW the original Cuban sandwich did not have mustard or mayo...though it is served that way today in many restaurants...with ONE or the OTHER The pickle used to be dill..some are doing bread/butter.

The moisture comes from the pickle and the melting with the press..and YES, the BREAD is the key ingredient as well.
As I said, try the MEDIA NOCHE, different bread, same contents.

Looks great MD. My parents gave my wife and I a Panini press as a gift, and holy crap where has this thing been all my life. It totally changed the way that I make a sandwich now. I used to press my sandwiches and muffelatas the same way until I got the press. You should look into getting one, I promise you will love it.

I put salami on mine. Best sandwich I ever had was a Cuban, sitting on Hulk Hogan's barstool, in Tampa.
