I just hope he's getting proportionally more per six pack than one that puts out a $8 six pack.

Just saying I hope he's making the extra money and not the stores selling it making extra because it's hot item right now.

Retail prices are not set by the brewery. Just like the Grand Reserve, some stores are probably setting the price higher.

That's what worries me.

I'll probably pick up a case or two to keep in the beer fridge.

What are prices on a shiner or abita amber pint at the bulldog for a comparison. No way I would want to pay $8 a pint for a 5% beer.

I want to say I paid $6 or so for a shaker glass of it at the bulldog. I don't go there very much for that reason.

Ding ding this is correct. If I am a store owner I'm not coming down until the product stops moving then ill drop the prices.

I don't understand this thought? Abv doesn't determine price.

Most cantillons are around 5% and go for over $20/bottle at the store.

In all fairness to the guy believing it was $8, it ends up being $7/pint w/ tip.

lol well the price is $5.50, not $8 or $7. you cant really include tip into the cost. shite a bottle of bud light is $3-3.50 at most places.

I'm not here to tell him how to run his business. Just stating that the pricing seems a little off. What's Abita cost? 8.99-7.99 depending on what store you're at?
We complain about how shitty Abita is then look at them for pricing? We want better breweries, then hold them to a bar on what they should charge?

Most craft beer 6ers that dont have a high grain or hop bill, go for $9/6. Canebrake has always been $9 since I've bought it in laffy. The extra dollar is just for BR (and I highly doubt it is going to the brewery).

Probably because Canebrake really isn't much better if at all than an Abita Amber. Both beers are solid easy drinking beer that are local. If I had the choice, I would go with a Canebrake everytime, but not for $2 to $3 more a six pack.

But it goes to pay the bills of a brewery who is willing to put out more interesting brews.

That's why i'll pick it up everytime over abita. I can afford the $0.33/bottle (BR pricing) or $0.16/bottle (Lafayette Pricing).

Meh, the cheapest I ever see Amber is 7.99. Usually 8.49. I'll pay the 25-33 cents more per bottle. I doubt it will stay $9.99 in BR long.
