I can confirm that fried chicken is every bit a real addiction as anything else is.

For the past 6 months or so I have been cooking almost exclusively from home and mostly lean proteins and veg. Lots of sous vide, pan searing, and roasting veg and great salads. I’ve not suffered once, but still the old fried chicken bug keeps raising its ugly head.
It’s been on my mind for the past few days. I even dreamed about it, so this evening I caved and popped into Blue Store and grabbed some wings and fried rice. My word, it was like the greatest meal I’ve ever had. I’m telling you. There’s just something about good fried chicken that really satisfies like nothing else really can.
I think I have a real problem that there is no escape from. I can run and I can hide, but it’s always going to be there calling my name, beckoning me to partake, and I am helplessly under its influence. Is there a support group for this?

It sounds like you have done well recently. All things in moderation. You have to enjoy the little things

If I had a Gus’s nearby I’d eat it multiple times a week, no doubt.

Can confirm you are on the right path, I've done the same and am down over 80 lbs since I started in 2018. My vice is not fried chicken but any type of burger or pizza. Gotta allow this stuff every so often to keep your sanity.
Its also impossible to keep it up certain times like holidays, while on vacation, or during a disaster. When you fall off the horse get back on.

I struggle with exactly the same thing. I drive past 3 Popeyes on my way home from work, and the desire to get one of those sandwiches, or a 2-piece spicy with red beans is almost painful at times. I find myself giving in every couple of months, and every time, I get this euphoric feeling, almost like I just downed a couple beers real fast and me and the wife (no pics) just got finished romping around in the sack. I figure anything that feels that good can't possibly be good for you haha.
Just gotta accept that it isn't going away, I guess, and try to fast or eat light the next day.
