oh hell no! That's crazy! I don't know if this is an option for you but if you have a friend who is an interior designer, it might be worth your while to hire them to help you. My MIL is one here in Jackson and every time we've needed something done, whoever she refers to us has always been able to get it done within a week of us asking. Now, so far it's only been less complicated things like a woodworker to build me a shoe wall or a drapery guy, but I know she's always talking about her tile guy or paint guy or furniture guy. I would think most designers have trusty people in their speed dial.

I have a contractor, so he gets to use his subs, pretty much, but I've now told him I want info on the subs before he uses them. I want to know they do this for a living and not on the side. He's trying to go cheap and I believe that's because he's had to pay a lot for the screwups when they first began. You'd be really mad if I listed everything from the past 3 years. They painted all the interior cabinets and moldings and the paint turned yellow within a few months, in some cases, a few weeks. Some of it turned beige. Looked like they used the wrong paint, but they didn't. They used a paint with a warning that it can turn yellow quickly, but I wasn't told about that. I didn't get an opinion that I would likely win a claim on that, so I had to stick with him to get it repainted on his dime. They still haven't finished the repaint. Two rooms left, but the painters got pissed off at him.
