Don't trust Amazon's "full price". Google the model # or just kitchenaid artisan mixer. You'll find some that are similarly priced or cheaper.
The one they are offering is a tad nicer aesthetically because of the glass bowl and maybe the color offering, but performance-wise, it's the same.
It's not a bad deal really. But is basically retail price if you were just looking for a stand mixer.

It’s not a particularly bad deal, I bought the stainless bowl version for about $15 less a while back.
