I've kept them in the fridge in the cryo pack that they come in for up to 6 weeks. No need to freeze them.

I had a prime packer I bought from Alexander's that was 12 lbs. got it for $45. Was cheaper than the choice. Anyways it's been in my freezer since last September... Salt/pepper and light coat of bad byruns on one side.
Best damn one I've ever did. Had a decent thread about it the other day.

What do you mean half a brisket? If you are talking about what they call the flat, I would make corn beef out of it and go get a whole Brisket. Much better for bar b q as just the flat will dry out. The Franklin way is the best way to go in MHO. Done prolly hundred of them all kinds of ways and his way is tough to beat, slice it when you serve it , not before.
