How much do places charge to cater plate lunch meals on holidays?

I'm curious how much my company gets ripped off every holiday for the meals they pay for. It's usually something like a 1/4 chicken, canned green beans, dirty rice, a slice of white bread, and maybe a cookie. Usually the quality is pretty poor. I appreciate them doing it, but I'm afraid they are getting taken. Roughly 500 people on big holidays like Thanksgiving and Xmas. BR area.

Is it your job to worry about such things?
I’m sure there are some options they can choose from and it will very by quality Vs value and hopefully the people paying for this at the company have figured that out

Jesus Christ can somebody just give a real answer like "about $15/plate"? No, it's my job to clean toilets not order food, but I'm allowed to be curious about it.

$10-$20 per plate. From what you’re describing, it better be $10 or less for that.

LOL. I didn’t mean to phrase that in such a bad way.
And I agree, a lot of times those kind of “free” meals like that are pretty bad.

Very subtle 
My dad was in charge of buying about 250 meals for some event around Thanksgiving. Ended up using Golden Chick’s catering service and it was a flat $10 per meal. Two pieces of chicken, two sides, and a roll.
Only time I’ve ever had their food and it was pretty good.

You could call the caterer and just ask their prices for such a meal. Cost will also depend on what they provide such as plates, utensils, delivery, service of the food on site, clean up, tip etc... Some of those things can add up to more than the food depending on the food ordered.
