I eat about 6 pounds.

I watched the vid. Not sure why everyone just sips on the head, you gotta crush that bastard to get all the good shite.

Alot of folks I know take a ring off with the head twist and pull out the meat with their teeth. I am more deliberate than that, maybe that is why I usually quit at 6 lbs.

Even better, I stick my thumb under each tail and push it to where the tail shell is above the abdomen, then I push the tail in a bit. This breaks the first two or so shell segments off and exposes the tail. It's money.

i concur...crushing & sucking the head should be a given.

I can eat 10+ lbs., I just get sick of peeling them.

Normally there's a couple of people who'll sit there and eat them till they're all gone. I'm usually one of those people.

I was friends with 2 brothers from Buras who were on the front page of the Wall Street Journal for being the world's fastest crawfish eaters. One of the won the contest the first year, and the other one won the 2nd year. Man, could they put away some crawfish.

Normally we head and peel the leftovers right away. The other day I chunked in a bag off ice and peeled them Sat. The yellow fat had solidified and came out in huge chunks. I put the tails in a gallon ziplock and you can hardly see the meat from the fat.

I will ice them down prior to cleaning forever more, that fat is going to make one hell of a etouffe or bisque.
