And how long do y'all keep shucked oysters for?

Buddy of mine got shucked oysters on saturday, and wants to cook em for tomorrow. Should I eat 'em?

Yea, that will be fine, especially since you will be eating them cooked. The other key is to make sure they were kept cold.....and if they were kept in their juice that would probably help things as well.

Shucked oysters have a pretty good shelflife. I would say they are good 7-10 days after being shucked depending on the time of the year. And they really don't go bad (smell bad)until they are 14 days or older.

If you've eatten fried oysters in a restaurant there is a good chance they had been shucked and not hit your plate for longer than two weeks yum...but they are sealed and kept cold or should've been at least.
