How is Vic & Anthony's in Lake Charles

Going to be in Lake Charles for the weekend for a company board retreat. They have us staying at the Golden Nugget. Was checking out the Golden Nugget's website and saw Vic & Anthony's. Menu looks great and figured I'd ask this board their opinion of the place.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions for any places to eat down there, it would be much appreciated.

Probably the best in that area. It really bothers me that you pay those prices but have to walk out of the restaurant to use the restroom. That price point should have a restroom in the restaurant.

It’s the best in lake Charles by far. Not as good as the one in Houston though

The steaks there were so MEH I couldn't handle it and for 55 dollars for a new york strip, you can find a better steak in town.
Find someplace else. It's definitely not the best place in town. Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's the best.

Away from the Nugget you could checkout Luna's downtown or I always like 121. Used to be 121 Bistro, but I think it's 121 something else now. It's always good. I'd also suggest easing over to the bar at The Chart House on property at the Nugget. It's adjacent to the pro shop and is usually 250% quieter than anywhere in the casino. Chart House food isn't bad, either and I find the service to be really good.

I wasn’t blown away by it, but I didn’t splurge for an expensive cut. The prices are pretty high.
Personally, I’d rather a meal at Calla.

Is there even a restaurant in lake Charles that serves prime steaks outside a casino?

I don't think so, doubtful.

Yes. The Harlequin, La Truffe Sauvage, Mazen’s, Prime, Calla (depending on the menu that week), and 1910 (if I remember correctly).
Sometimes others have prime specials.

Solid choice. The owner is a local and chef Amanda is good.
