How do you feel about Zippy's?

Most people I've talked to say that its not good at all. But I haven't had a better burrito in the BR area than the Cuban. I actually go there too much. The GM told me he was shocked when I came in at a different time than usual. It was pretty sad.
Also, they have a really good atmosphere and cheap drinks. Is there something I am missing that makes it avoided so much?

I used to tear up some Zippy's back in the day. Sure, it would reciprocate more times than not, but I'm still a fan.

The atmosphere for Saints games & LSU events are pretty legit. Plus, you can't really beat some of the deals they have on beer & shots.
I'm a fan of the big plate chicken nachos & fish tacos they have.

It's not going to knock your socks off but it's pretty cheap and pretty good. Plus, like you said, a good atmosphere and cheap drinks. A good pre-game spot before going downtown or to Tigerland

Exactly, it's not Superior or Coyote Blue. But at least the food isn't as shitty/expensive as Serranos.

Superior in BR is so bad. 
Zippy's...you know what you are paying for. Cheap mexican. You can make a good meal out of it. It's also a fun place to eat/hang out. I like going there.

It's not even fun to go there. Nothing but trash.
Shreveport superior is legit--food is really good. New Orleans is fun too--average food though.

Zippy's is my pre-bar hangout...Get some grub, some margs, and check out the sites.
Be prepared for some long foodie diatribes on here about how Zippy's isn't a 5* Mexican joint. If you like it, it's all that should matter
