Well Hallertau Blanc is supposed to resemble notes of white wine, from what i read in an article a while back. I would think something with some effervescence and spiciness like a saison would work perfectly with this.

Personally, i'd throw a little wheat in there as well to give it a little body.

Turns out the local yeast company sells Conan, so score, but I was going to use the SD super yeast as a fallback.

I used this for the 1st time my last brew. Fermented out a 1.066 beer in 5 days (maybe less). Very clean profile.

BTW, that doesn't look like Conan.

Conan is just Heady yeast. It goes by many names in the commercial world due to copyright issues, I guess. LINK

The bootleg biology "local yeast and wild bugs" threw me for a minute.

That sucks. Never had a stuck sparge but I can imagine what a PITA it is.

Happened to me once. But not exactly a stuck sparge. Somehow the grains ended up below my false bottom and clogged up the outlet.

This one wasn't too bad. I unhooked the hose, gave it a good stir, recirculated, and got it going again. I've had worse stuck sparges back when I used a crappy steel hose as my false bottom.

Ended up going:
12 lbs Avangard Pils
1 lb red wheat
0.9 oz Hallertau Blanc at 45 (8.8% AA),then 3 oz hop stand at 170

Finished up my porter. Exceeded my expected marks. 75% mash efficiency, usually get 70%. I did take apart all my equipment and clean over the week. So maybe that is helping out my mash. 6 gallons of porter in the fermenter, OG = 1.062

Finally got my Black Friday purchase in last week. Haven't brewed on it yet but figured if anyone could appreciate a new shiny pot it'd be y'all
I got the 20 gallon Brew-Boss kettle with their COFI filter, along with the controller.

Mmmmmm....tri-clamp fittings

If anyone knows of anyone interested in a 3 keggle electric set up please let me know, I'll probably be getting rid of mine.

It's part of the basket. It's a recirculating BIAB system that uses the mesh SS basket instead of a bag.

Very intriguing. I like the simplicity of that. Is the heating element just for mash heating and a burner is still used for the boil, or can that element get it to a boil?

Edit: just went to the website and read up on on it and answered most of my questions. I like that. Keep me posted on how yours works.
