That said, the mart on the corner of gardere and Nicholson has great red beans and pork chops on mondays

Yea Overpass Merchant's Tuesday Lunch special of chicken fried chicken on green beans and taters is AMAZING.

Never understood the appeal of going out for the meat and 3 type meals.

Even if it is really good, it is the epitome of make it at home food.

Except fried chicken. I'm not making that at home.

Truck Farm Tavern in St. Rose on river road is one of the best lunches you can get. I eat there a ton with customers and have never had anything that wasn’t great

Menu is solid

I guess it is that you know how hard somebody worked to make you some kick arse home cooking. Most of those places have cooked the same stuff for several generations.
Their MAW MAW probably made the same dishes and taught them how to cook it just right.
And no mess to clean up:)

The three pigs is incredible as well, I just wouldn’t advise eating either if you have a busy afternoon planned
