I have not, but I suppose if you're a fried pickle slice fan, this may be appealing to you.
Fried Pickle Dogs
Ingredients
HEAT:
Vegetable oil
SPREAD:
6 -12 Tbsp. spicy jalapeño or plain cream cheese
6 slices deli-sliced pastrami or ham
6 whole dill pickles, patted dry and skewered
WHISK:
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup cornstarch
½ tsp. baking powder
¾ cup club soda
Instructions
Heat 2½–3 inches oil in a large pot (at least 6 inches tall) to 375°. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
Spread 1–2 Tbsp. cream cheese onto each pickle and wrap with one slice of pastrami; secure pastrami to pickle with a toothpick. Refrigerate until ready to fry.
Whisk together flour, cornstarch, and baking powder in a bowl. When oil reaches 375° add club soda to flour mixture and whisk to combine.
Coat pickle dogs, using a spoon to coat all sides with batter. Carefully drop pickle dogs into hot oil one at a time.
Fry pickle dogs, 2 at a time, until golden, about ? 2 minutes; transfer to prepared baking sheet. Repeat battering and frying with remaining pickle dogs. Remove toothpick from pickle dogs before serving.

Fried pickle slices are the bomb. Fried pickle spears or any other fried pickle iterations fall way short.
I would order this fried pickle dog at a ball game or something to try it out if it was on a menu

I love corn dogs. I make them at home with hot dogs, smoked sausage and shrimp. Might try pickles or pickle spears next time.

I would try it! Not sure I'd make my own without having tried one, first.

I need to remember to try one or two when I next make corn dogs or shrimp dogs. I don't think I'd plan to make them, exclusively, for anyone without a small trial run.
