Even on vacation out of state? To me, that’s an added benefit of going out of town is scouting for a new brewery or two.
I'm somewhere in the middle. Taprooms in the city near the other stuff I'm doing are a no brainer. I enjoy going to Mikkeler taproom, Stone, Ballast Point, etc. all within the city. But I'm not really interested in heading 30+ minutes outside of the city solely to visit a brewery.
I've been lucky to find cool breweries in one-off areas I'm stuck working that aren't exciting otherwise (Bottle Logic in boring Anaheim, for example), but otherwise if I'm somewhere cool I'm not leaving specifically for a brewery.
