I got an email from the run group that meets there on Tuesdays that Happys closed this past Wednesday. I wonder why they closed. It always seemed busy.

Noise complaints. Apparently relocating to another downtown location.

From what I've read, it's a lot more than noise complaints. There was an article recently basically calling out the Happy's owner for late/non-payment of rent and bouncing checks. A recent article also said that Happy's is moving down the street to the old Lucy's building.

If he’s not paying his bills than it won’t last in the other location either

The reality for downtown BR though is Happy’s paying bills about half the time is a still more reliable revenue stream than just about anything else that can go in that slot after the 3 year vacancy and fail in 6 months, unless whoever SWB’s replacement wants to pull a Kip and start prioritizing downtown again.

It's not dead at all. We were down there two weekends ago. Normal crowd until around 11:30, then a different type crowd showed up. It turned into a street party and got scary very quickly.
